Each pin opens a real Contract Link finding. These are the same checks we run on every Tier 2 audit.

Materials: "as discussed"

No SKUs, no brand, no grade. "As discussed" is unenforceable — you'd be paying for whatever shows up on the truck.

$8,500 lump sum — no breakdown

No labour-versus-materials split. You can't verify markup, and can't change scope without renegotiating from zero.

Start date: TBD

Open-ended start means open-ended liability. A signed deposit with no start window strongly favours the contractor.

Warranty: 1 year

Ontario industry standard is two years on workmanship for most trades. Below market — usually a quiet cost-saver on the contractor's end.

Permits: by homeowner

Code-required permits pushed back to you is a red flag. Often means the contractor's history with the city — Kitchener, Cambridge, Guelph — is the actual problem.

No WSIB clearance number

If a worker is hurt on your property and the contractor isn't WSIB-compliant, the liability flows up to you as the homeowner.

Why Contract Link is different from a Google review

Independent

We work for homeowners, not contractors. No referral fees from the trades, and we don't recommend specific contractors by name.

Experience-driven

Every review is grounded in real construction and project management experience — not algorithms scraping reviews.

Flexible

Use one tier or scale up as your project grows. You're never locked in.

Serving homeowners across Waterloo Region and Guelph

Contract Link works with homeowners in Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge, and Guelph — and across the surrounding communities. Every review is delivered remotely, so location doesn't change your turnaround.

Beyond the tiers — Full Project Brokerage

For larger or higher-risk projects involving multiple trades, schedules, and ongoing decisions, our Full Project Brokerage service provides end-to-end guidance from planning through completion — contractor sourcing, coordination, and oversight throughout the build.

Frequently asked questions

Yes. The Quick Quote Check is built for that ratio. It surfaces vague scope, missing materials specs, and the questions your contractor doesn't want you to ask. A 30-minute read can prevent a $5,000+ change-order surprise once work starts.

Only on Tier 3 (Broker-Assisted Review). Tiers 1 and 2 give you the analysis and clarifying questions — your contractor never knows you used us unless you tell them.

Referral sites are paid by contractors. We're paid by homeowners. That changes who the analysis serves. We also don't recommend specific contractors by name — our job is to evaluate the one you've already chosen.

That's our core service area. We also work with homeowners in surrounding communities — Elmira, St. Jacobs, New Hamburg, Ayr, Breslau, Fergus, Elora, and Puslinch. All work is remote, so location doesn't change turnaround.

Yes. The $49 Quick Quote Check is credited toward the $197 Risk & Scope Review if you upgrade within 14 days. Email info@contractlink.ca with your order number.
